About Veritas Villages

Built on Truth, Designed for Freedom

We build communities where freedom is not a selling point but a design principle — grounded in real infrastructure, transparent governance, and land that supports genuine independence.

Our Philosophy

Why We Build the Way We Build

Most people who move abroad do it looking for something: lower costs, a gentler pace, a different relationship with the land. Veritas Villages was founded for people who want something more specific — a place where freedom is not just a selling point, but a design principle.

The name comes from the Latin for truth. What we build is grounded in an honest reckoning with the direction the world is heading and the practical question of what a good life looks like when you stop depending on systems you cannot control.

That means food production built into the community from the ground up — not as a hobby but as real infrastructure. It means access to clean water that doesn't run through a municipal authority. It means energy systems that work when the grid doesn't. And it means a community of neighbors who see the same world you see and chose the same response to it.

We build in Latin America because the land supports it. Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua offer year-round growing climates, relatively stable legal environments for foreign residents, and a cost of living that lets you live well without running the financial treadmill indefinitely.

A diverse group of adults gathered outdoors for a meeting on a sunny day in a peaceful garden setting.

Veritas

From the Latin: truth, authenticity, reality. A commitment to building communities that work exactly as described — no hidden rules, no concealed trade-offs.

What Guides Us

The F.I.R.S.T. Principles

These values guide everything we do — from the homes we build to the way we communicate, govern, and grow.

F

Freedom

Every design decision begins with a simple question: does this give residents more freedom, or less? Freedom to live how you choose. Freedom from surveillance, from overreach, from systems that treat you as a liability rather than a neighbor. We design for autonomy by default.

I

Independence

Independence means infrastructure, not ideology. It means the village produces food, captures water, and generates power without permanent dependence on external supply chains. You could live here comfortably if the broader grid never came back — and that is a deliberate design goal, not a fantasy.

R

Resilience

Resilience is not pessimism. It is the recognition that complex systems fail, and that building your life around the assumption of infinite stability is a risk most people don't consciously choose to take. Veritas Villages gives you a real Plan B — a place that works when the world is under stress.

S

Sustainability

We build with the land, not against it. Low-footprint construction, water catchment, solar capability, composting, and food forests are not optional extras — they are part of the baseline design. Sustainable here means lasting, not just environmentally fashionable.

T

Transparency

There are no hidden rules at Veritas Villages. Community governance runs through a Decentralized Autonomous Organization — every resident holds a vote, every major decision is put to the community, and the rules that govern your life are the rules you helped write. No boards. No surprises.

How We Govern

No Boards. No Hidden Rules. Real Votes.

The conventional HOA model gives power to a small elected board and expects everyone else to comply. Veritas Villages runs on a different model: a Decentralized Autonomous Organization where every resident holds a genuine vote on community decisions.

Every rule that governs daily life in the village is visible, versioned, and subject to community vote. No board can change the rules you agreed to when you moved in without your participation.

Financial transactions within the community can be conducted in Bitcoin, giving residents genuine independence from the conventional banking system and a transparent record of community finances.

Every resident votes

Major community decisions require a vote. Your voice counts exactly as much as your neighbor's, from day one.

No hidden rules

The community rules are visible, versioned, and agreed on collectively. No surprise policies introduced after you move in.

Bitcoin-enabled transactions

All community transactions can be conducted in Bitcoin — a genuine financial alternative for residents who want independence from the conventional banking system.

Transparent community finances

On-chain governance means community finances are auditable by any resident at any time. No closed-door budget meetings.
